Facilities: Dry Cargo Handling & Storage

The Mundra Port has state-of-the-art facilities for the handling and warehousing of dry cargo at Multi-purpose Terminal and West Basin. Dry cargo handling & storage facilities at each of the locations are mentioned here.

Facilities at Berth

• 4 nos. Gottwald and 8 nos. Liebherr mobile harbour cranes SWL 100 mt with hook and grab mode.
• 4 nos. Liebherr mobile harbor cranes on order.
• 2 rail-mounted mobile hoppers for direct discharge to import conveyors.
• 10 mobile hoppers for direct discharge into dumpers.
• 3.6 km conveyor system capable of handling 1,500 TPH of import as well as export cargo.

Equipments for Cargo Handling

• 1no. 1000 TPH ship loader.
• 40 nos. excavators.
• 50 nos. loaders including 8 nos. CAT loaders
• 60 nos. 40 ft trailers for internal transportation.
• 03 nos. 20 MTS Goliath cranes with vacuum handling pipe attachments. capable of handling 8” to 56” diameter pipes.
• 02 nos. Liebherr cranes with vacuum handling pipe attachments capable of handling 14” to 58” diameter pipes.
• 4 nos. 32-tonnes and 2 nos. 45-tonnes lifting capacity forklifts with multiple attachments for handling steel coils, plates and slabs.
• 1 no. reach stacker 45-tonnes for handling cement-coated pipe .

Facilities for Storage

• State of the art fully mechanized fertilizer cargo complex consisting of 44 bagging machines capable of handling 8-10 fertilizer rakes per day i.e. 28,000 tonnes per day.
• 27 closed godowns with total area of 223,520 sq. mtrs. for storage various cargoes viz. fertilizers, fertilizer raw materials (FRM), DOC, wheat, rice, sugar, etc.
• 1,060,848 sq. mtrs. of well demarcated open storage yard for steam coal, coking coal, project cargo, bentonite, bauxite, scrap, clinker, salt, , etc.
• 120,000 sq. mtrs. of dedicated steel yard for storage of steel pipes, steel slabs, steel plates and steel coils.
• 26,000 sq. mtrs. of open storage alongside rail siding.
• Agri park with storage area of 94,500 sq. mtrs for agri commodities. The agri park consists of 27,000 sq. mtrs of Permanent godowns and 67,500 sq. mtrs of Transit godowns with railhead.
• 12 bagging lines capable of handling 432 TPH.
• 8 nos. weigh bridges for trucks.
• 2 nos. in-motion rail weigh bridges.

Facilities at Berth

• 4 nos. grab type ship unloaders.
• 3 nos. grab-type ship unloaders on order.
• 21 km of conveyor systems, with 7.5 m/s conveying speed.

Equipments for Cargo Handling

• 3 nos. stacker reclaimers with 6000 TPH stacking capacity, 2500 reclaiming capacity.
• 2 nos. rapid wagon loading facilities silos.
• 3 nos. truck loading facilities silos.

Facilities for Storage

• Yard storage capacity (Phase I) is 3.2 million tones.
• Dedicated yards for specific customers.
